df reports erroneous disk size/usage on network drives

I've used cygwin for years, and very happy by the way, and this current
issue hasn't caused
any problems as far as I can tell. After perusing the FAQ and searching
I didn't
see other occurrences quite like this.

We just installed a 5.5TB drive server and although cygcheck gets the right
size the drives as reported by "df" are:

$ df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
C:\cygwin\bin 312528508 70974276 241554232 23% /usr/bin
C:\cygwin\lib 312528508 70974276 241554232 23% /usr/lib
C:\cygwin 312528508 70974276 241554232 23% /
c: 312528508 70974276 241554232 23% /cygdrive/c
w: 20963324 15771848 5191476 76% /cygdrive/w
x: 1368856024 -2682801784 -243309488 92% /cygdrive/x
z: 1368856024 -2682801784 -243309488 92% /cygdrive/z

In looking at other issues, I don't have any of the cygwin offending
programs like anti-virus
software and our IT guy isn't making use of quotas.

Any ideas?
