No etc/passwd (was) Re: (everything!) command not found

no - when I was looking at the cygwin icon I was saying the path.
Sorry for the confusion.

I did not choose to uninstall anything.  I did not change any of the 
defaults.  Trust me.  I know I
don't know enough to do that.
