Greetings:

  ~ $ date;cygcheck -c cygwin
  Sun Aug 24 11:37:36 CDT 2008
  Cygwin Package Information
  Package Version Status
  cygwin 1.5.25-15 OK
  ~ $ "$COMSPEC"
  -bash: D:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe: command not found
  ~ $ ls -l "$COMSPEC"
  -rwxrwxr-x+ 1 Administrators SYSTEM 236816 Nov 2 2004 D:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe*

bash will not run a command using a windows path to it anymore.
Sorry for not "keeping up" - I did go through the cygwin
announcements for 2008, but probably need to go back even further.
I will plan on doing this.

When this syntax stopped being supported and why? - not that I object ;->

thanks/regards,
Tom
