MATLAB mexFunction() with Cygwin GCC Windows

                ^^^^^^^^^^^
See the underlined portions above.  You're not using the Cygwin gcc,
you're really using the MinGW gcc that understands Cygwin paths.  So
you're better off asking on the MinGW list.
