man-1.6d-2 emacs/xemacs problem

Change the following line in /usr/share/misc/man.conf:

NROFF       /usr/bin/nroff -Tlatin1 -mandoc

to

NROFF        /usr/bin/nroff -c -mandoc 2>/dev/null
