NEVER put a copy of cygwin1.dll in c:\windows\system.  Instead, update
your PATH environment variable to include c:\cygwin\bin (or where the lone
copy of cygwin1.dll lives).  Otherwise, you are asking for problems due to
multiple versions of the .dll.
