Hang with 20051018 (3rd version) snapshot while building OOo

Just FYI, I tried the 20051102 snapshot and strace doesn't seem to
work at all in that version. For example:

$ strace ls

doesn't produce *any* output.

I'll try the 03 snap when it arrives.
