Using gcc under cygwin to compile and link the db2 udb sample c programs

I'm wondering whether anyone have used gcc under cygwin (windows xp) to compile and link the db2 udb sample c/cpp programs successfully? I'd appreciate if you could share the steps and command syntax. Under Linux, it is very simple and I just run the make all command. Thanks.
