Problem: cmd.exe executes wildcard, bash displays error, Invalid argument

Using Windows2000, version 5.0, build 2195, SP2, and setup.exe, with cygwin
install, version 2.340.2.5, downloaded and installed
cygwin-1.3.22-1.tar.bz2, together with most every gnu-tool. (See the
attached cygcheck.out file.)

>From cmd.exe, both following commands execute as expected:

ls units_*.c_dat

cat units_*.c_dat > units.dat

However, in bash, both give errors,
   bash: /usr/bin/ls: Invalid argument
   bash: /usr/bin/cat: Invalid argument
    What have I done wrong?

Jerry D. Laney

Sincerely Yours ( :>),
