Hi Charles,
I've taken a deeper look into the libtool sources and found a hint relating to
the way other os do this checking, for example

Also in case you tell me that this is to late, see this for information purpose.
I can see from this, that major unix platforms use 'pass_all', so there couldn't
be so much issues.
