proposed mkpasswd change

That looks like WinNT or better output.  On Win95 I get..

$ mkpasswd -l
admin:use_crypt:500:544:Administrator:/home/admin:/bin/bash
cygusr:use_crypt:1069:544:cygusr:/home/cygusr:/bin/bash
