Cygwin and gcc version

Can setup.exe be configured as it leaves the test gcc (and others) in
place ?
I installed gcc-3 and setup is always choosing the stable version, 2.95
one.

> 'Current' is the stable release, the 'exp' category is for test
> releases, since gcc3 is a new port which still needs some testing
