TERM=cygwin colors

Hi,
I am using cygwin on W2K. The color display seems to be off. I believe
this to be a termcap/terminfo problem. For example:
* When I use 'ls --color=auto', directories are dark blue,
executables are green, but 'normal' files are light cyan. I
thought they used to be white.
* When I use vim and examine, say, a diff file, '!' changes are
dark blue, '-' changes are red, but '+' changes are the same
color as the surrounding text (that is, light cyan). If I use
rxvt and do the same thing, each type of change correctly
displays in a different color (using TERM=xterm-color)
* I think this problem started when I installed XFree86, but I
have since re-installed cygwin and the color problem persists.
* I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling termcap and
terminfo with no change.
* My infocmp looks like this:

/usr/share/terminfo/c/cygwin

Does anyone see anything wrong with this?
I realize this is a relatively minor point but it is very aggrevating
and I like my colors! Any help would be appreciated.
