Is there any way to get a UNC path to be 'mounted' from cygwin ?

Is there any way to get a UNC path to be 'mounted' from cygwin ?

I am trying something like:

$ mount \\netapp.dev.net/package/windows/devel /usr/devel

mount does not complain, but I cannot access /usr/devel

any hints ?
