Giving up trying to get Cygwin OpenSSH3.5 to work on Win2000 Pro SP3

Max,
As per your instructions, mounts are now:
D:\Cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type system (binmode)
D:\Cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type system (binmode)
D:\Cygwin on / type system (binmode)
c: on /cygdrive/c type user (textmode,noumount)
d: on /cygdrive/d type user (textmode,noumount)
e: on /cygdrive/e type user (textmode,noumount)
g: on /cygdrive/g type user (textmode,noumount)
h: on /cygdrive/h type user (textmode,noumount)
I then created the sshd2 service and then started it.
Here are the logs generated by the server and localhost client:
