Hans,

It's not surprising _that_ didn't work!

Man rxvt or rxvt -help (yes, one hyphen only!) will tell which arguments to 
use to alter the default font (whatever that is). Recent discussions here 
have suggested Lucida Console (not a Windows default font, apparently, but 
installed with Office and probably other MS packages) and Andale Mono 
(available for no-cost download from MS).

Search the archives, the font stuff was covered pretty thoroughly here in 
just the past couple of weeks.
