perl-5.6.1 cygwin problem

I subscribe to both lists, so I'm indifferent.
But, if it seems to be Cygwin specific I would
try here first.  If you have the ability to test
on another platform and you get the same results
as Cygwin, then perl5-porters is probably better.

Could you provide some details (code would be best)?
