diffrence from linux

what is the command in cygwin for it to log
every thing output from the screen
linux is [  > log.log ]
but  what is cygwin

and im working on a file that compiled on
cygwin 2.0 version
what should i look out for useing
the newest version of cygwin
i have a ton of error's that im widdling away at
and need some quick fixes
