Invoking MODE.COM crashes cygwin bash!!! (Win95)

I type "mode.com" and it gives me lots of info my com, printer, and console.
There is no confirming with return necessary.

I can't imagine what they would be.  Please send cygcheck -r -s -v output
to this mailing list and maybe someone will be able to figure out what's
wrong.
