Problem with old makefiles and bin/text disc. again

You could also upgrade to make 3.79 which ignores the extra carriage
returns in makefiles.  It build OOTB without any problems.

Otherwise, if you are willing to accept a 300K tar.gz attachment from
me, then I'm willing to email it to you.
