Does the popen work? gcc cygnus-2.7.2-970404

Hi.

Does the popen work? Is there any differences between sun's cc and gcc
popen? The code from sun does not work in NT. What shell is used to
execute the popened command?

Gcc version is  cygnus-2.7.2-970404.
Cygwin.dll is from Coolview tar and date is Nov 3.
