From huntharo@msu.edu Mon Feb 24 13:52:00 2003 From: huntharo@msu.edu (Harold L Hunt II) Date: Mon, 24 Feb 2003 13:52:00 -0000 Subject: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Server Test 78 Message-ID: Links: I just posted Test 78 to the server development page: http://xfree86.cygwin.com/devel/shadow/ You can install the Test 78 package via setup.exe by selecting the 'test' package (and be sure to check the 'Bin' box): XFree86-xserv-4.2.0-26 Server Test Series binary and source code releases are now available via the sources.redhat.com ftp mirror network (http://cygwin.com/mirrors.html) in the pub/cygwin/xfree/devel/shadow/ directory. You may wish to note the desired filename in the links below, then download from your closest mirror (http://cygwin.com/mirrors.html). Server binary, direct link: http://www.msu.edu/~huntharo/xwin/shadow/XWin-Test78.exe.bz2 (1202 KiB) Server source, direct link: http://www.msu.edu/~huntharo/xwin/shadow/xwin-20030224-0828.tar.bz2 (108 KiB) xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xwin (all files) diff against Test77 source code: http://www.msu.edu/~huntharo/xwin/shadow/xwin-Test77-to-Test78.diff (9 KiB) Changes: 1) Automatically detect several non-U.S. keyboard configurations by querying Windows for the current locale. (Alexander Gottwald) 2) Add a check for the height not being toggled to a positive integer when the Shadow GDI DIB is created. One user has reported it so far, so it may be due to a single video card or driver version. Also, this may not fix the problem. Changes: 1) Automatically detect several non-U.S. keyboard configurations by querying Windows for the current locale. (Alexander Gottwald) 2) Add a check for the height not being toggled to a positive integer when the Shadow GDI DIB is created. One user has reported it so far, so it may be due to a single video card or driver version. Also, this may not fix the problem. (Harold Hunt) -- Harold Hunt To update your installation, click on the "Install Cygwin now" link on the http://cygwin.com/ web page. This downloads setup.exe to your system. Save it and run setup, answer the questions and pick up 'XFree86-xserv' from the 'XFree86' category. You may need to click the "Full" button if it doesn't show up. Note that downloads from sources.redhat.com (aka cygwin.com) aren't allowed due to bandwidth limitations. This means that you will need to find a mirror which has this update. In the US, ftp://archive.progeny.com/cygwin/ is a reliable high bandwidth connection. In Japan, ftp://ftp.u-aizu.ac.jp/pub/gnu/gnu-win32/ is usually up-to-date. In DK, http://mirrors.sunsite.dk/cygwin/ is usually up-to-date. If one of the above doesn't have the latest version of this package you can either wait for the site to be updated or find another mirror. Please send questions or comments to the Cygwin/XFree86 mailing list at: cygwin-xfree@sources.redhat.com . If you want to subscribe go to: http://cygwin.com/lists.html I would appreciate if you would use this mailing list rather than emailing me directly. This includes ideas and comments about the setup utility or Cygwin/XFree86 in general. If you want to make a point or ask a question the Cygwin/XFree86 mailing list is the appropriate place.
