Request for help debugging screen problem

Ok, so I now understand that ReadFile() itself is not failing. 
ReadFile() is successfully populating error_code() with results of 
requests read/written to the cygserver named pipe.

I'm now trying to get my head around what cygserver is unhappy with.

It's been a steep learning curve so far.
