Cygwin CVS from 2003/09/17 at approximately 9:30 PM ET.

A domain user:
uid=19695(jt) gid=10513(Domain Users) groups=544(Administrators),545(Users),10513(Domain Users)
Or, did I misunderstand the question?

No, just run proftpd from the shell under LocalSystem (or as a service)
and then login from a ftp client. You should see something like the
following:
TISHLERJASON (127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]) - FTP session opened.
TISHLERJASON (127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]) - USER jt: Login successful.
c:\home\jt\src\proftpd-1.2.9rc1-3\proftpd.exe: *** CreateFileMapping, Win32 error 5. Terminating.
