Can't build snapshots with net release?

Oops. I forgot to do two things in my previous message.

1) Thank you for trying this, Earnie.  I really appreciate being able to
ask for verification and get it like this.

2) I wanted to note that I seem to have vfork working well enough so
that it works in make and with a modified version of ash.  This makes a
noticeable improvement in building the tools.
