Thanks.  'Course, I'm going to have to slow-roll the actual compiler
given the wacky gcc-mingw-* issues (see
   http://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin-announce/2011-04/msg00015.html )
but that horse has been beaten to death elsewhere.
