I have git installed on my Ubuntu system but I don't see any indication
that it is experimental.  It's also installed on my gentoo system.

I don't think there is any reason to vote on this.  I assume that you're
accomplished enough by now that you know how to build a package so I
don't see any reason to wait for uploading it.

I would really like to have this package in Cygwin.  Thanks very much
for uploading it.
