You can use a branch in your local repository, tag it, apply Max's
patch, tag that, and then code from there.  Then you can provide an
incremental patch (cvs rdiff -r tagoforiginal -r branchname) OR a full
patch (cvs rdiff -r branchpointtag -r branchname)

What I'll need to see before any patch goes in is the final thing. So,
consider the above just a tool to make collaboration  easier whilst
preparing the patch.
