Right, well here are the options:
1) Roll your own setup. Show that nothing breaks over a few weeks
regular use. Submit a patch.
2) Suggest what setup should do, based on the need to have a tmp dir.
3) Use mount points rather than symlinks. Setup should honour mount
points.
