jq 1.8.0-1 is now available in Cygwin. This release includes security and bug
fixes, several new features, and some syntax changes, some of which may break
existing scripts. Please see

jq is like sed for JSON data – you can use it to slice, filter, map, and
transform structured data with the same ease that sed, awk, grep and friends
let you alter text.
