As already explained, kernel.org is down for maintenance, so this failure
is expected.
I've pushed a new version, 1.12.3, which has a change to use an alternate
download location (on the free.fr mirrors), as well as less-important
changes due to binutils (and gdb) renaming the release tarballs.
Please, give it a try.
