final build log location

Hi Yann,

I don't know how others would feel about it, but what if the
uncompressed log file were left in the work area and a compressed copy
stored in the install location? If disk space is a concern then the
symlink, as you suggest, would be great too.

I like having the spinning bars and elapsed time when the build is
going well, so it would be nice to be able to leave those on.
