Facinating. It references that word back to 1665, before my time, I've 
only been speaking English for about 50 years.

I've heard phrases like "handily near the shops" although it really does 
not sound like proper English.  I have never hear "handily" used to mean 
easily.

I'd definitely recommend using easily in this context.
