Hi Mike, Steve, everyone.

Things are progressing quite nicely now.  Userspace is building mostly without
issues.  I have found something a little odd though, some of the "fixed" header
files were missing in the crossbuilt native GCC, they were present however on
the machine I used for the cross-building from the cross-compiler installation
so I just copied them across.  db4 doesn't build otherwise.  I'll take a look
at the ebuild/eclass logic for crosscompiling a native GCC.  Unless I just
leave it with you, Mike.
