Current_menu error happens every time

How do I get around this problem with the 2.6.8 kernel?  It is not
clear to me from the crosstool how-to that I can change the kernel
used in the scripts.


scripts/kconfig/mconf.c:91: error: static declaration of
'current_menu' followsnon-static declaration
scripts/kconfig/lkc.h:63: error: previous declaration of
'current_menu' was heremake[1]: *** [scripts/kconfig/mconf.o] Error 1
make: *** [oldconfig] Error 2
