trouble crossbuilding arm EABI gcc

I'm sure everybody hoped they'd read the last of my problems but I'm back!

My arm-iwmmxt-linux-gnueabi cross-compiler seems to work but I've run into a
problem now cross-compiling the native compiler:

arm-iwmmxt-linux-gnueabi-gcc -c   -O2  -DIN_GCC   -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings
-Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -Wno-long-long
-Wno-variadic-macros -Wold-style-definition -Wmissing-format-attribute   
-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc
-I../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc/. -I../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc/../include
-I../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc/../libcpp/include    
../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc/attribs.c -o attribs.o
In file included from ../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc/attribs.c:30:
../../gcc-4.1-20060414/gcc/rtl.h:183: error: width of 'code' exceeds its type
make[2]: *** [attribs.o] Error

The rest of my Gentoo bootstrap root install cross-built ok.  So this is a bit
frustrating!
