ok, i think i found the "cc1" problem

according to this snippet from the 2.6.13 kernel makefile
arch/sh/Makefile:
cflags-y := -mb
cflags-$(CONFIG_CPU_LITTLE_ENDIAN) := -ml
cflags-$(CONFIG_CPU_SH2) += -m2
cflags-$(CONFIG_CPU_SH3) += -m3
cflags-$(CONFIG_CPU_SH4) += -m4 \
$(call cc-option,-mno-implicit-fp,-m4-nofpu)
i really shouldn't have to add my own TARGET_CFLAGS settings of -m3 or
-mb anymore. will test this a bit later.
