./a.out: symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0

when I compile using my new arm-9tdmi-linux-gnu-gcc, why
./a.out: relocation error: ./a.out: symbol errno, version GLIBC_2.0
not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
error comes?

I've gone thru:

Ive another a.out generated from Reference  compiler, which can be run properly.
It differs frm new complr generatd a.out, when I  vi ./a.out:

/lib/ld-linux.so.3 & /lib/ld-linux.so.2
LIBC_2.4 & LIBC_2.0
respectively
