problems getting crosstool-0.28-r35 working on mac os x

Dan,

I have a 667 powerbook that only has about 10Gb free and isn't always
plugged into the network at night, so I'm probably not the best
candidate. I'll ask around, though... it's a worthy cause!

Incidentally, do you know if anyone has successfully used a crosstool
derived toolchain to build a kernel under OS X? I am able to build
x86-linux executables, but the kernel build chokes pretty quickly (I
suspect non-standard Mac versions of command line utils to be the
culprit again, but I don't really know).
