for the slow ones in this thread (i.e. me), could you point out a little more 
details ? :)
which configure script (probably gcc/configure ...), which header check, about 
where in the file, etc... ?

i base all of my stuff off of vanilla/mainline packaging (well, plus Gentoo 
patches of course, but those shouldnt matter)
