glibc-2.3.5 addon for ColdFire trouble using crosstool

I think I remember something on this list a few weeks ago, also concerning 
bits/syscall.h for mips. Can't find it now. But googling found at least one 
reference to a like problem in this thread:

Which ultimately points to this patch:

Which I have not bothered to decrypt ;)

It might apply to glibc-2.3.5 also, there's only one way to find out. Btw, 
the thread does not mention whether this patch solved the problem.
