Compiling problem with mc5272c3 for uClinux 2.6

hi,
  i am not able to make depenedencies after configuring Kernel. Please
help me out.
  as soon as i type "make dep" it gives an error stating "make dep is
unnecessary".
  what command has to be given for it.
