The latest linux-2.4 I tried to build was already awhile back, at the time 
it failed because of some syntax changes in gcc-3.4 - I had to fall back to 
gcc-3.3 to get it to compile (sparc architecture). I was under the 
impression that linux-2.4 was not going to be adapted for gcc-3.4, but it 
seems I was (very) mistaken here. My apologies for the misinformation.
