error in unwind-dw.c while compiling ppc970 cross-gcc

i looked through the gcc-3.4_branch in cvs and it seems they've done a lot of 
work on the rs6000/linux64 side of things ... i just grabbed the 
gcc-3.4-20050401.tar.bz2 snapshot and ran it with the same configure flags 
and it worked where the gcc-3.4.3.tar.bz2 failed

so the adventurous sort can look at maybe ripping a patch out for 3.4.3 or 
just be lazy and wait for 3.4.4 ?  i think i'll grab a bunch of snapshots and 
use the good old binary search method ...
