Jason Rothstein posted his experiences with
cross-compilation to the sparc-linux target in July.
I, too have slackware 10, am trying to install to
sparc-linux targets using:
binutils 2.15
gcc 3.4.2
glibc 2.3.3
crti.o cannot be found, although it sits in /usr/lib,
same with RedHat 9 too.
../configure --prefix=/usr/local --target=sparc-linux
--without-headers --disable-shared
--with-gcc-version-trigger=/root/development/gcc-3.4.2/gcc/version.c
The above works. It doesnt work if you remove
"--disable-shared" so that has something to do with
crti.o.
I also tried "make bootstrap" instead of "make", which
ALWAYS crashes in "sed has no arguments to -e" or
something. sparc seems to be a less supported platform
compared to ARM PPC MIPS and x86 now.
Have you had any further successes?
