Yes; I'm trying to build the i386-generic-glibc target (which tries to
build glibc-2.2.5) in PTXdist with the debian-provided i386-linux-gcc.
I'm not sure against which version this one was built.

Yep:
- download ptxdist-0.7.0
- optionally link <path-to-your-src-dir> to src
- make i386-generic-glibc_config
- change

PTXCONF_GNU_TARGET="i386-linux"
in .config
- time make world 2>&1 | tee logfile
