Hi Dan. Thanks for checking.
IIRC, __NR_pread is supposed to be derived from kernel headers
(or maybe used directly); maybe it isn't defined there. It is
also of course possible that glibc (FSF CVS) has a glitch
regarding use of __NR_pread.
I'll look closer at glibc issues this fall (like getting FSF CVS
in a compilable state!)
