Sure... I just modified TARGET_CFLAGS in "powerpc-405.dat":

TARGET_CFLAGS="-Os -mcpu=405"

So, this has do with the optimisation being carried out. This is 
obviously a "known" bug if one is googling a bit:

So I just added the "-fno-unit-at-a-time" parameter to the list, as well:

TARGET_CFLAGS="-Os -mcpu=405 -fno-unit-at-a-time"

And then it worked...
