Sheesh, you didn't have to yell at the newbie....
You would have come across much better if you just stated that they
might want to try -mcpu=r4600, and point them at:
http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc-3.2.3/gcc/MIPS-Options.html#MIPS%20Options
for mor info on the mips commmandline options.
Remember, we were all newbies at one time...
