Building und/libiberty for powerpc-eabi cross compiler fails due to linker error

Maybe I should quit while I'm behind.  The original post was correct.  

Multiple commands are being concatenated by the removal of line breaks.  

In the first post, all lines begin with "cygwin$ ".  If this appears in 
the middle of a line, treat it as a separate command.
